Learn to properly care for your skin before and after laser hair removal to maximize results and ensure comfort. Following these guidelines will help protect your skin and improve your treatment.

Pre-Care

Before Your Session:

  • Shave the Treatment Area: Ensure the area is shaved at least 12 hours before your appointment.

  • Wear Loose-Fitting Clothing: Choose comfortable, loose clothing on the day of treatment.

  • Avoid Alcohol and Smoking: Refrain from consuming alcohol or smoking the night before and on the day of your session.

  • Stay Hydrated: Drink at least 1 liter of water the day before and the day of your treatment. This helps your body regulate its temperature.

  • Arrive Early: Arriving early helps you feel relaxed before your session.

  • Skip the Gym: Avoid exercise before your treatment.

  • Keep the Area Clean: Ensure the area is clean and dry, and avoid applying any lotions, creams, or products to the treatment area.

  • Protect from UV Exposure: Avoid direct sun exposure, tanning beds, or self-tanning products for 8 weeks before treatment.

Did you know? Two weeks post-treatment, your skin will be smooth, hair regrowth will slow down significantly, and you’ll likely wish you started your laser hair removal journey sooner!

  • Exercise: Avoid physical activity for at least 48 hours.

  • Hot Showers and Baths: Stick to cool showers for 48 hours post-treatment.

  • Chlorine: Avoid swimming and any activities involving chlorine for 48 hours.

  • Make-Up: Avoid applying makeup on the treated area for at least 48 hours.

  • Scratching: Do not scratch if blistering or crusting occurs, as this may lead to scarring.

  • Hair Removal Methods: Avoid waxing, tweezing, and threading throughout the treatment course.

What to Do After Your Treatment:

  • Cool the Area: Apply an ice pack to reduce discomfort, irritation, or pain.

  • Soothe the Skin: Use aloe vera gel or calming creams for 3 days post-treatment.

  • Dress Comfortably: Wear loose clothing to prevent friction on the treated area for 48 hours.

  • Keep It Clean: Maintain the treated area clean and dry for 48 hours.

  • Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to help your body recover.

  • Use Sunscreen: Apply sunscreen with at least SPF 50 and Zinc for 2 weeks to protect the skin.

Skin Reactions and Risks

Common Reactions (for Skin Rejuvenation Treatments):

  • Scabbing and Discoloration: Some scabbing, darkening of blood vessels, hyperpigmentation, or blanching may occur after treatment.

Rare Adverse Reactions:

  • Immediate Concerns: These include excessive pain, persistent redness, swelling, blistering, bruising, ash-colored or puckered skin, and crystal-shaped skin markings.

  • Delayed Reactions: These may include swelling in sensitive areas, tearing of fragile skin, scarring, hyper- or hypopigmentation, epidermal erosion, and prolonged itching. Keeping the area cool and applying aloe vera or calming creams can help alleviate these symptoms.
